Certain animals (dogs, for example) walk in circles before laying down because this behavior was hard-wired into them. It's natural behavior their ancestors did in order to flatten down grass to make a comfy bed.

If people were meant to pop out of bed, we'd all sleep in toasters.

"I made myself a snowball
As perfect as can be.
I thought I'd keep it as a pet,
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas
And a pillow for it's head.
Then last night it ran away,
But first - It wet the bed."

To arise from the left side of the bed will put you in a sour mood and will subject your entire day to misfortune. Get up from the right and step 1st on your right foot. If you err, walk backwards until you have returned to bed and can begin again.
Origin. The Romans thought the left side to be the "evil one." A citizen entered a friend's home with his right foot forward. Some wealthy families even hired a "footman" to insure proper entry of all guests. The English word sinister (meaning wicked or evil) is derived from the Latin word meaning "left side."

This is an unusual scene in that most of the donkeys we saw were either carrying fodder for the animals or were just being ridden. This man seems to be moving home with his and is riding on top of his possessions.
This was shot in the larger village north of Kelaa M'Gouna where we stopped to change onto a local ramshackle minibus to go up into the remoter village called Hod further up river.
